There are so many things to remember when you’re building your online empire ‒ the finances, the quality of your product, and all of them are important, but times have changes. In today’s technology age, there’s an argument to be made for the importance of online visibility. It’s right up there in the ranks of public relations and advertisement.

In order to increase your online presence and get eyes on your website, you’ve got to be great at Search Engine Optimization, also called SEO, and if you’re not familiar with it you had better get someone on your team who is.

Here are some ways SEO Specialists can help you:

Extensive Knowledge of Search Engines: You need someone that knows how these things work. A specialist will help you get your site noticed because they understand what key words to use when making a website popular. They put their best foot forward to learn strategies for marketing and advertising on the internet.

You Get What You Pay For: SEO Specialists will put their best foot forward when handling your company’s brand. They’re knowledgeable about the fluctuating statistics in advertising and make it their business to guarantee your success. They know what it takes to get you the best results, so a return on their efforts should be a solid promise.

Performance: These inexpensive specialists know what they’re doing and will get you the traffic you’re looking for. In hardly any time, your company website will get the popularity you’re looking for, and if you choose the right person, it’s guaranteed.

Specialization: There are marketers, and then there are Internet marketers, and then there are SEO specialists. Just like you might expect, the more focused the expert, the more effective the work, plain and simple.

It’s a SEO Specialist’s job to increase activity to your site through use of search engine optimization. It’ll save you time because specialists will do all the work for you, regardless of the type of employment you choose for them, full or one-time employment. More people will click onto your website and hopefully, become your new customers through the use of a specialist that puts all of their time and effort to getting you more publicity on your site.

Last time, our top SEO tips were all about on-page SEO, a.k.a. ‘that which you have control over.’ This week, we’re going to look at off-page SEO, which if Google had its way, you would never have any control over. It’s a good thing we’re not going to let Google have its way.

Off-Page SEO: The Four Ninja

Leonardo, Michaelangelo…sorry. Same deal here as last week: rather than give you tricks, this is a list of the goals you should have for your off-page SEO. You can Google up the ‘how’ almost anywhere.

  • Get Your Page Shared on As Many Relevant Social Media Pages As Possible, As Quickly As Possible: For the first 1.5-2.5 weeks of its existence, your page’s SERP ranking is dependent on social shares. Also, more shares up front means more natural, unpaid backlinks later. (DO NOT keep up the same frenetic pace with your backlinks: Google will penalize you if your site whips up too many backlinks too quickly.)
  • Maximize The Number Of Domains That Link To You: It doesn’t matter if you have four million incoming links if they’re all from hubpages.com. But if you have 1 link each coming in from each of 50 unique domains, you’re doing pretty good for yourself. Don’t waste time building more than one link from each domain.
  • Avoid the Internet Ghettos: This is almost more of a sub-point of the one above, but it’s really important, so we’re setting it aside: in all of your efforts to get links from unique root domains, keep in mind that some domains are toxic. If Google sees a bunch of links to your site cropping up with URLs like b06alb.rufsic.ex/20dlkn, they’re going to think maybe you’re hanging with the wrong crowd and drop you way down onto page 40 or so.
  • Perform Backlink Analysis on Yourself and Your Competitors: There are a lot of tools for this online. Performed on your own pages, the idea is to figure out which backlinks are the most valuable (in terms of traffic), so you can try to make more of the same. Performed on your competitors, the idea is to figure out what sites, markets, and angles they’re tapping into that you could be.

When you’re going it alone, trying to make ends meet by selling stuff online, you have to be ruthlessly efficient. You don’t have time in your day for marketing efforts that don’t maximize your value-per-hour. If that’s you, these are your top SEO tips. Let’s cut to the chase.

On-Page SEO: The Seven Samurai

On-page SEO has lots of steps and techniques that can be learned and mastered through various online resources, but not that often do you see a list of intents — of things you should be aiming at when you build your web pages. Here is that list, in order of importance:

  • Create Unique Value: Your landing pages should offer something that isn’t available anywhere else (or at least, not many other places.)
  • Love the Spiders: Keep your website super spider friendly with standardized navigation, a site map, and proper canonicalization.
  • Keywords: Your primary keyword needs to be in the title tag, description tag, the actual title of the page, the URL, and the body copy. Secondary keywords at least in body copy.
  • KISS: Keep your site’s design as simple and to-the-point as you can. Focus on making it easily scanned, easily understood, and quick to load.
  • Social Justice: Make sure your site is easy to share on social media by offering sharing buttons, but also by making it insanely clear in the title and first sentence what the article is about. Also, use rel=”author” or rel=”publisher” to ‘claim’ your content.
  • Accessibility: Your page needs to render properly in every browser, on every device.
  • Metadata: If you have data that clearly falls into one of Google’s Rich Snippets categories, use the proper metadata code and mark it as such.

If you can master these seven intents and keep them all in mind with each new site you build, you will have come a long way. There will always be endless argument among top SEO companies about which specific trick or technique is best for accomplishing these goals, but no SEO professional would dare to say that this is a comprehensive list of what to accomplish.
